Who We Are

Seward Towers Corporation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in South Minneapolis whose purpose is to promote the long-term viability of Seward Towers, 640 units of quality, deeply affordable housing with services tailored to the needs of the residents and to foster the integration of those residents into the larger Seward community.

 

Seward Towers Corporation (STC) was founded in 1990 as Borson Housing Corporation (named after the original towers)  but soon after changed its name to Seward Housing Corporation. In 1999, it changed its name again to Seward Towers Corporation, which is the current name.

 

Seward Towers Corporation owned two subsidized apartment buildings with 640 apartment units which provide housing to low and moderate income individuals and families in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The buildings were sold on January 14, 2016 to an affiliated limited partnership to facilitate a complete renovation of the buildings. Seward Towers Corporation is the co-general partner of the new owner and has a note receivable with the new owner from the sale of the property.
